International artist Ian Berry is one of the charities supporters and is famed around the world for his work using only denim jeans, and you have to see them to really appreciate how good his work is.
Ian dislikes the puns around his work, like ‘Jeanius’ Daily Mail, but the ‘Jean Genie’ GQ turns to Gin Jeanie in this special event in the spirit of fun for a good cause - come help us add a tonic to Jeans for Genes.
Named a top 30 artist under 30 in the world, this show was named a top 7 exhibition to see in London by FAD magazine and 'Must See' by the Londonist. Here we’ll celebrate his tenth year as a professional artist.

Gin by Kongsgaard Raw Gin
Danish Gin makers Kongsgaard Raw Gin are great friends of Ian, and like the artist, they have a time consuming process to perfect their art - and by hand.
At the centerpiece of the layers of flavour of Kongsgaard are Danish apples. Among the world’s best, they balance the selected apple sort with a seasonal cut, to reflect that first raw bite.
Founded in the dark woods surrounding the ancient town of Roskilde,
a majestic building of oak once stood tall and strong. It was from this seat in the great hall of Kongsgaard, the legendary Vikings ruled and sagas of the kingdom of Denmark began.
Today, staying true to traditions of their ancestors, they craft their gin by hand, distilling in small batches. Kongsgaard also have an eye on the future and like Ian, thoughts of sustainability. They are aiming to be CO2 neutral and are now the only Gin brand to plant forest! With a partnership with Treedom Trees they have not only planted trees, but provided jobs to communities.
Come and taste some and also see some of Ian Berry’s hand crafted labels, and also the RAW Denim edition.
Ian’s sell out show has been a success worth celebrating. On the night we will give people the chance to get hold of a part of Ian’s work with some items from the installations up for sale, like the albums from the record store. 50% of all sales will be given to Jeans for Genes.. Get in fast.
Newton Faulkner
Newton needs little introduction, but here we go. Faulkner is an English singer-songwriter and musician known for his percussive style of guitar playing.
In 2007 Newton's debut studio album Hand Built by Robots was certified double platinum in the United Kingdom. The album topped the UK Albums Chart in August 2007. It was promoted by three singles, "Dream Catch Me", "I Need Something" and "Teardrop".
Ian Said ‘Having Newton perform will be extra special, as in 2007 and 08 he was the sound track to my summers. I was working with denim when I left for Australia but it was there I decided to not do ‘the day job’ and concentrate on my art. So it has great memories.’
‘He also starred as the Sung Thoughts of the Journalist in Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds which was my childhood favourite as my dad loved it. And of course Johnny in American Idiot and Green Day represented another milestone period.’
Jeans for Genes Day is the annual fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder.
Monies raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders.
Of course, they are working tirelessly all year round with many events, as well as selling the tee shirts - like the new Batman collaboration.
